Blizzard Entertainment is seeking an exceptionally skilled senior VFX artist for our next hit game!
You have a passion for bringing the Diablo universe to life through visceral action. You live on a rich diet of fire, explosions, blood, guts, and exploding bloody guts that are on fire. Your well of creative ideas for how enemies spawn, attack, and die never runs dry. You can translate design concepts into juicy, eye-catching visuals with a stylized, hand-crafted touch and a focus on feel.
As a “Combat Imagineer” your DNA is part artist, part designer, and part tech wizard. You see ways to make crazy ideas happen. You thrive in a busy, collaborative, cross-discipline environment of peers who are insanely passionate about the dark medieval worlds of Diablo.
REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in creating real-time VFX for games
- Game play oriented with a design focused mindset
- Solid experience with tools such as Photoshop, Maya, After Effects, particles, and ribbons
- Able to paint VFX textures from scratch and match an established style
- Able to help set and maintain project-wide style consistency
- Able to mentor junior VFX artists and provide meaningful feedback
- High degree of proficiency with 3D rendering / designing shaders, able to push technical boundaries
- Self-driven, excellent communicator, big picture minded, and a model team-player
- A passion for video games
PLUSES
- Animation experience
- Scripting experience in Lua, Python, etc
- Character rigging experience
- 2D or 3D animation experience
