About the Position

DHX Studios – Vancouver is looking for a Post-Production Supervisor to oversee all aspects of the post-production process for our upcoming Feature! As a Post-Production Supervisor, it is your responsibility to see that the film is completed on schedule and within budget. You will work collaboratively with the heads of each post-production department, as well as outside vendors, and maintain close communication with the Producer, Director, and Editor. You will ultimately help to realize the final vision of the production!

Responsibilities

• Maintain close communication with the production team to ensure that production deadlines and quality standards are met
• Prioritize and maintain an efficient production schedule
• Effectively oversee multiple crews and share information to ensure production goals are met
• Monitor the work of the sound facility and sound editors, to include ADR, scoring, sound design and sound effects
• Oversee any reshoots and completion of retakes
• Edit and refine production picture, such as colour timing and video mastering
• Print and deliver final production to distributors
• Complete additional tasks such as overseeing legal clearances, arranging preview screenings and budgeting the production’s post process

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of post-production process
• Previous experience with film budgeting software and general financial and budget management skills
• Degree in film and television production or technical training in a related field is preferred
• Excellent communication skills and people skills, with the ability to effectively multi-task
• Excellent organizational skills and problem solving skills
• Solid understanding of video, sound, animation and compositing fields is necessary
• Team-oriented with the ability to motivate others with enthusiasm and a positive attitude
• Ability to make tough decisions and work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines
• Knowledge of relevant Health & Safety laws and procedures
• Up-to-date with new technology within the post-production platform
