I/O Coordinator

FuseFX New York is currently searching for an I/O Coordinator to join our Production Management team. The primary focus of this position is the creation, management, support, and delivery of client and studio render files. Candidate will work with a team of it professionals and support artists, producers, and supervisors. Candidates with a visual effects experience in production or production support with experience in episodic television highly preferred.

FuseFX is an Emmy-award winning visual effects and animation studio focused on producing photo-real digital effects for feature film, episodic television, and commercials.

I/O Coordinators support the render farm 24x7 and oversee rendering in-house studio productions in this entry-level but mission-critical role. This position has broad interaction with production artists from FX, animation, lighting, layout, and modeling departments as well as technical directors and technology teams. I/O Coordinator deals with digital assets entering and leaving the facility via electronic and physical media.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor, manage and keep the render farm running at maximum capacity.

• Monitor, manage and check rendered shots, verifying delivery for dailies.

• Maintain rendering priorities and resource allocations for various productions.

• Assist artists with render job submissions and errors.

• Monitor infrastructure servers and escalate problems.

• Ingest files from clients and prepare deliveries to clients

• Transfer files between offices


REQUIREMENTS:

• Unix Shell experience.

• Windows experience.

• Fundamental systems administration skills and general technical troubleshooting experience.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to handle a fast paced, occasionally high pressure environment.

• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

• Willingness to work very flexible hours, including weekends, evenings or nights when production schedules require.

• Basic shell scripting experience preferred.
