For over 20 years, Deck Nine Games has been making award-winning games and technology. Deck Nine has ranged far and wide with the genres and platforms for their games, but we were always building a reputation for innovative technology and compelling gameplay. For the past four years, Deck Nine has been focused on building remarkable tools and technology for the creation of dramatic storytelling games. We are currently in pre-production on our next big title. We recently shippped Before the Storm, a sequel to the hit game Life is Strange. We have additional projects in the pipeline and are continuing to grow our cinematic, artistic and narrative tools and technology.
Deck Nine Games is looking for experienced VFX artists to join our award-winning team.
Responsibilities:
-- Light game environments using Unreal game engine
-- Bake scene lights using Unity’s light mapper
-- Create VFX systems using Unity’s particle tools
-- Assist in creation of environment assets when necessary
-- Be able to work quickly and efficiently while adhering to
the established art direction
-- Work creatively both independently as well as with art
direction
-- Excellent work ethic, self-motivation, able to accept
constructive criticism and art direction
Qualifications:
-- Excellent understanding of artistic fundamentals such as light,
shadow, form, color, and composition
-- A portfolio showcasing relevant environment art,
lighting, and VFX work
-- Proficiency with Maya, Photoshop, and Unreal
-- Experience creating and lighting real time game assets
-- Excellent communication and organizational skills
-- Scripting experience a plus
