ART MANAGER

Who We Are:
Hangar 13 is the newest 2K development studio. We’re focused on creating AAA games for console and PC. The studio is comprised of industry veterans drawn from a diverse range of studios, who have collectively shipped hundreds of titles across a wide variety of genres. We are located just thirty minutes north of San Francisco and in production on our first title, Mafia III, available October 7, 2016. We’re currently building our own proprietary engine and tools in service of our next AAA title, still unannounced. 

What We Need:
Hangar 13 is in search of an Art Manager who will be responsible for managing all art-team asset creators on-project. This person will own the creation, delivery and correct integration of all art assets. Ideally this person will also create and maintain art asset best practices and specification documentation.

Job Responsibilities Will Include:

• Work closely with the Art Director to understand the art vision for the project
• Work with design, art and engineering to understand project art requirements
• Manage the creation and maintenance of art asset specification documents, both for performance and in-game metrics
• Manage the creation of a wide range of art asset types, ensuring delivery on schedule and to specification
• Research and make suggestions on tools and pipelines necessary to meet visual and technical goals and outsourcing requirements
• Contribute to the asset creation schedule and ensure timely delivery
• Proactively identify unforeseen problems and evaluate solutions
• Manage the art asset creation team
• Interview and hire candidates as necessary
• Research and propose training for art team
• Identify areas of shared interest and plan cross-studio pipeline development
• Plan long term development in regards to future projects

Our Art Manager is a clear communicator who promotes passion for producing quality assets that fosters enthusiasm and productivity across all disciplines.  

Minimum Requirements:

• 5 years of experience in an art related field
• Bachelor’s Degree in Art, or related experience
• Ability to work independently with a high level of autonomy
• Ability to create a production schedule and meet deadlines
• Ability to manage a team of artists and work well with cross-discipline teams
• Excellent outward communicator and public speaker
