3D Artist Manager

Reports To: Head of 3D

Key purpose of the role:

Responsible for developing 3D talent within the business. Taking a leading role in recruitment, scheduling, reviews and training strategy in order to cultivate our fantastic team of 3D artists.

Main responsibilities and duties:
Manage a team of artists and leverage talent to ensure crew are consistently motivated and evolving in their roles and that we are fully utilising and developing skills available.
Work with the Company Scheduler and Production Teams to evaluate the needs of each project and ensure that new hires and existing artists are scheduled into the correct roles, on appropriate shows, while establishing recruitment needs.
Work with the Recruitment Manager to review show reels, select and interview 3D artists globally, provide constructive feedback on candidates and determine appropriate hires.
Work with the 3D Trainer to carry out analysis of training needs across the business ensuring appropriate training material and courses are designed and implemented.
Consistently evaluate the efficacy of documentation and training, ensuring career development and growth within the 3D team.
Plan and strategise the long term scheduling of 3D artists and associated timeframes.
Conduct performance and salary reviews with HR and feed back relevant information into the scheduling process.
Work collaboratively with Head of 3D, HR Manager and Company Scheduler with respect to overall 3D strategy and initiatives.

Skills and experience:
5+ years experience in VFX.
Ability to complete aspects of 3D shot production.
Proven track record of interpreting resourcing and training needs and delivering results.
Understanding the needs and demands of a production driven environment.
Evidence of being a leader or role model at a team level.
