3D Sequence Supervisor

Reports To: Head of 3D
Direct Reports: 3D Supervisor and VFX Supervisor on the show, as well as to the show Production Manager


Key Responsibilities of the Job:
The Sequence Supervisor is responsible for some or all of the following:

Leading a team of artists
The Sequence Supervisor is responsible for leading the technical and creative efforts of a team of artists towards completion across a sequence of shots. They will be tasked with creating the look of those shots, creating shot set ups and final shots where required. They will support their artists and provide relevant information conducive to the completion of work on the sequence. They will also be responsible for the delivery of work on schedule and to a high standard.

Scheduling
The Sequence Supervisor may be asked to assist in the scheduling process with the show’s Producer, VFX Supervisor and CG Supervisor in order to provide realistic information on the timeframes of a particular sequence. They will also be asked to provide recommendations of crew placement and tasking. In addition, they are responsible for keeping production up to date on any forecast drifts in completion of work away from the schedule. 

Creative and aesthetic integrity
In addition, the Sequence Supervisor is responsible for ensuring aesthetic consistency across their sequence in line with the VFX Supervisors creative vision. At times they will be charged with providing creative direction in response to a brief from the VFX Supervisor on their sequence, and ensuring that work produced by artists on the sequence is compliant with that direction.

Needs to Know:
You must have a minimum of 5 years VFX film experience.
You must have experience leading a team of VFX artists.
Advanced experience in using Maya and other 3D packages.
Critical eye for detail, and be able to communicate visual aspects to the team.
Technically strong.
Experienced in project management, balancing quality with time constraints.
