Senior Production Manager - Motion

Description

 We are looking for a Senior Production Manager for the Motion group at Weta Digital.
This person would oversee the production teams in both the Animation and Motion Edit departments and work alongside a Senior Head of Department.

Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee all scheduled work within the production group, providing leadership and direction to Production department members.
• Collaborate with the Senior HoD of Motion in facilitating and supporting communication across the Motion group. 
• Working with central management in ensuring Motion department teams are operating effectively and delivering to schedule
• Report any issues or concerns surrounding crew, workflow and production schedules to Head of Production
• Promote collaboration with other Senior Production Managers, promoting communication and working relationships with other departments outside of the Motion Group.
• Support overall group recruitment efforts
• Assess incoming work with Senior Heads of Dept and prepare department groups for upcoming work
• Build and maintain a positive working environment
• Instill and maintain regular processes within departments that ensure crew are receiving performance evaluations
• Work with Department Managers and HOD’s to ensure effective training programmes are in place for their respective disciplines 
• Ensure that Contract renewals and hires are anticipated and carried out in a timely manner
• Manage Dept group budget
• Ensure post Mortems occur at the end of each project

Needs to know/have:

• 5+ years of practical VFX Production Management experience
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Excellent understanding of VFX technologies and workflows
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Methodical in approach and skilled in planning. 
• Skilled in gaining the support and understanding of key stakeholders in Motion group decision making process. 
• Proven knowledge of scheduling and scheduling tools
• Highly developed time management skills with an ability to prioritise
