PR/Social Media Wizard
Description
VRWERX is seeking a creative professional to own social media strategy in support of our corporate communications goals and VR games/films. The right candidate will be passionate, creative, strategic, and a self-starter who's willing and able to roll up their sleeves and get stuff done. They'll be excited about building a social media strategy from the ground up to educate key audiences about important VRWERX activities, events, and milestones, and to amplify our PR efforts.
Core Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and own our social media strategy for reaching various audiences and educating them about key VRWERX activities, events, milestones and PR efforts;
- Use social media to drive awareness of and traffic to key stories and websites;
- Create and manage accounts on various social media platforms, using them effectively for various efforts throughout the year;
- Be the go-to social media expert for our internal teams;
- Work with international PR teams to globalize our social media programs and help them build out localized versions; and
- Earn trust internally and externally with many different audiences and stakeholders.
Proven ability, willingness, and desire to:
- Think and act strategically – look around corners and build a long-term social media presence in support of public relations efforts;
- Be creative and develop engaging social media content that's aligned with the company brand;
- Exercise high judgment, particularly in narrow timeframes;
- Think and communicate clearly – formulate a clear point of view on complicated issues and create a concise and well-written narrative to express it;
- Work hard and smart;
- Deal with ambiguity – have a bias for action and form a cohesive and effective outcome from potentially incongruous facts (or lack thereof) and individual perspectives;
- Roll up sleeves and get work done, even when at times it’s outside the scope of the job; and
- Pay painstaking attention to important details.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 3 years of social media experience in support of public relations goals;
- A track record of building creative programs and delivering results; and
- Excellent writing and verbal communications skills.
