Senior Cinematic Animator
Description
Bungie is seeking an experienced Senior Cinematic Animator to help advance gameplay and storytelling in the AAA world of Destiny. As a Senior Cinematic Animator, you will be responsible for driving large areas of project animation, creating prototypes and seeing them through the production process. You will participate in the technical side of our pipeline, collaborating on system improvements and supporting the animation team goals of efficient and aesthetic completion of tasks as well as participating in critiques of the overall character’s in-game performance. Responsibilities
- Create high quality full character animation (block, 2nd pass and polish) for a variety of character types
- Drive and own large areas of character production and/or system development
- Oversee content creation
- Ensure the visual continuity, quality, and performance across characters as set by Project and Animation Leadership
- Work with other adjacent groups including Character Riggers, Character Artists and Designers in the character creation process
- Work with Animation Leadership to set up, maintain and troubleshoot the art production pipeline, workflows and toolsets
Required Skills
- Undergraduate degree or completion of a certificate program that provides an education in the fundamentals of art
- 5 or more years’ experience working as an animator on a shipped game title (AAA) with 1 or more years of Senior Animator experience
- Advanced understanding of the core principals of animation
- Advanced understanding of core game design principals
- Thorough knowledge of Maya
- Experience working with motion capture
- Experience setting up and working in a layer based engine and/or state machines
- Proven ability to take and give direction
- Motivated & committed - good team player with a can-do attitude
