Creative Director
Description
The Creative Director will provide creative leadership for game aesthetics, mechanics, design, and story. In partnership with the Sledgehammer Leadership team, this position is also responsible for developing a studio that will attract and retain the best game development talent in the world.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide visionary oversight and creative direction for the game.
- Manage the integration and tuning of design, art, animation and story.
- Match game quality goals and scope to complement schedule, staff and budget.
- Improve processes and practices to increase quality and accuracy.
- Support Human Resources and Recruiting to ensure optimal hiring practices.
- Participate in organizational planning to ensure structure reflects changing business needs
- Maintain knowledge of the global game market and applies knowledge to product
The skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Ten or more years of direct game development experience. Proven success, or relevant experience, in driving team results through strong leadership
- Ability to motivate teams and promote initiatives
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proven problem solving and trouble-shooting skills
- Experience managing change
The ideal candidate will also have:
- Ability to map out overall game pacing
- Strong portfolio of work in current-gen engines
- Experience developing first-person shooters (not required)
- Ability to assist with level, narrative, and systems design when the situation arises
