Assistant Art Director - Outsourcing

Assistant Art Director is responsible for reviewing art, providing feedback, reference and other resources under guidance of the Art Director to contractors and external partners to ensure the quality of outsourced content.  Works with Art Director, Content Leads and Producers to coordinate efforts of art team and external partners to ensure quality and schedules are met.

Responsibilities:

• Collect and distribute reference material and art direction to external artists.
• Develop detailed JIRA tasks that can then be assigned out by the Art Producers as needed.
• Liaise with outsourcing Art Leads and Producers as needed to provide them with the information they need to properly staff for the amount of work required.
• Evaluate incoming art assets to make sure they meet the established level of quality and meet the technical requirements.
• Check assets into editor, source and can setup materials and textures according to spec and protocol.
• Using examples provided by the Art Director and the Art Team, develop internal or external solutions to flesh out delegated areas of secondary importance that support the established art direction.
• Provide additional artistic support in the areas of architecture, construction, biology and any other areas necessary to facilitate sound art creation.

Skills Required:

• Excellent artistic eye when it comes to making content for video games.
• Understands technical specifications for art content creations.
• Proficient in Photoshop, 3Ds max and other standard art creation programs.
• Excellent communicator

 Experience:

• Minimum of  3 – 4 years professional experience
• Unreal 4 engine experience a plus
• Technical material creation a plus
• Experience in team leadership a plus
