Senior Compositor

Description

Umedia is an international film group specialized in the production of international feature-film projects. Its activities include production, co-production, financing (through internal funds), visual effects (VFX) and finishing (DI). It has offices in Los Angeles, London, Paris and Brussels and recently Vancouver.

Umedia’s launch of its Post-production studio in Vancouver, focuses on visual effects, animation, color finishing and mastering for feature films and platform TV series. To support its slate of projects, Umedia Vancouver is looking for experienced Senior Compositors.

YOUR MISSION

  • Compositing of live-action and CG elements to create technically perfect and visually stunning final shots.
  • Take direction from the supervisors.
  • Find creative ways to solve complex compositing issues and demonstrate a broad range of compositing abilities, from roto, paint-outs to finessing of complex CG integrations.
  • Take active part in production and team meetings.
  • Mentor and inspire junior compositors and be part of their interview process.
  • Work closely with the production coordinators to meet productivity and shot quota targets, respecting deadlines.

REQUIREMENTS

  • You have at least 5 years’ experience in compositing for feature film.
  • You have an expert demonstrated working knowledge of Nuke.
  • You have proven production experience in using Nuke.
  • You understand complex compositing workflows.
  • You are technically minded and understand tools, dailies, scripts, file formats, LUT’s and naming conventions.
  • You are autonomous, trustworthy and you can deliver your work on time.
  • You have excellent communication skills and you are a good team member.
  • You are rigorous, detail-focused and you have a problem-solving mindset.
  • You are fluent in English.
  • You are a resident of Canada and you are legally permitted to work in Canada.
