Modeler

Purpose of the job:

The Modeler will produce photorealistic models from scratch and see them through the modeling pipeline from start to finish.         

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Create photorealistic models from scratch that meet all technical and aesthetic standards for the project
• Complete tasks within production deadlines while being largely self-directed
• Be able to provide guidance and mentorship to other modelers
• Work closely with the texture artists to ensure all models work smoothly within the texture pipeline as well as the modeling pipeline
• Work closely with the riggers in the case of character models to ensure models work smoothly within the rigging pipeline as well as the modeling pipeline.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience Required:

• 2+ years of experience creating high resolution, photorealistic models for feature films in Maya
• Experience with Character, Hard Surface vehicles or props and/or Environments modeling
• Experience working from 2D reference as well as cyberscan and motion capture data
• Zbrush and Mudbox experience is preferred
• Cyslice experience is a plus
• Photorealistic texture painting and lighting experience is a plus
• Must have excellent communication and organizational skills

Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands: 

• Office working environment.
• Hours for this position are based on normal working hours but will require extra hours pending production needs.
• Walking/bending/sitting.
