Description

Huhu Studios is a leading film and television animation studio based in the beautiful Rodney district north of Auckland.

We are looking for a Modeler who can model props including foliage and has a speed tree experience.

Please note this is a contract position.

Summary Description:

• Work with Director to understand and facilitate project style
• Works with Modeling Lead to interpret concept drawings with input from Art Director when necessary
• Effectively translate concept art to 3D
• Sculpting and topologising for animation and simulation
• Asset Management and engagement with pipeline
• Interpret concept drawings converting them into computer graphic models
• Foliage Modelling
• Speed Tree experience desired
• Rigging experience desired
• UV Unwrapping
• Liaise with Concept Department on building Pre-Vis sets  
• Good spatial awareness for sets and character scales
• Great attention to detail
• High attention to quality and economy of topology
• Thorough knowledge of blendshapes

Skills Required:

• Maya in a Windows Environment
• Zbrush or equivalent sculpting package
• Strong design and understanding of appeal in animation
• Understanding of clean character topology
• Understanding of blendshape animation
• Technical modelling.
• Problem solving
• Fluent in English

Bonus Skills:

• Drawing or Traditional Sculpting
• Grooming or Texturing
• Simulation
• Python Scripting
