Great Marlborough Production Ltd in association with Cartoon
Network Studio Europe is looking for an experienced 2D KEY ANIMATION SUPERVISOR
to work on Season 6 of award winning series THE AMAZING WORLD
OF GUMBALL (44 x 11 minutes).
The Animation Supervisor will be responsible
for managing a team of 12 animators (most in-house) who will be producing all
of the key frame animation for the Series. They will ensure that their animation is on model and that the
performance is consistent across the whole team.
They will also be expected to be heavily
involved in daily communication with the out of house studio who will be
completing animation (in-between and clean-up).
The nature of the show will mean that the
supervisor will need to adapt to a wide variety of stylised & unique
characters.
The
supervisor should be accustomed to working within tight production schedules
and be able to highlight any areas of concern in good time to the production
team. He/She will be responsible for the smooth running of the department and
delivery of episodes to schedule and creative standards
Responsibilities
include but are not limited to:

Attending weekly technical reviews of episodes, advising on technical points that may affect the 2D animation

Attending animation briefs with Directors and working closelt with the 3D Animation Supervisor

Working with the Animation Production Manager, breaking down episodes/shots
difficulty, estimating workload for each episode/task

Assigning scenes to artists, reviewing dailies, following up on directorial
comments and providing guidance to animators on staging, pacing and acting

Liaising on technical and creative issues with the Supervisors of other
departments as well as Directors

Briefing and reviewing work from the out of house in-between/clean up team
Requirements
- Knowledge
of Flash puppet animation as well as traditional hand drawn animation
essential.
- Experience
as a 2D Animation Supervisor on long form television series is required.
- Experience
of working with out of house animation studios would be an advantage.
