SUMMARY: Works with Copywriters, Art Directors, Associate Creative Directors, and Executive Creative Director, responsible for the development and execution of original creative content. Creates and present original, on-strategy communications in every medium including, but not limited to print, digital and broadcast.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designs in a style consistent with our brand voice, ensuring flawless execution while maintaining the vision and tone of the Universal Orlando brand or specific campaign. Responds proactively to challenges and remains focused on finding solutions for a successful end result.
  • Collaborates openly and effectively with Copywriters, Art Directors, Designers, Integrated Marketing Communications and stakeholders in conceptualizing and executing effective original content work across a variety of mediums.
  • Works with Resource Management, Art Directors and IMCs to manage their projects and workload. Takes initiative to move projects along according to schedule. Seeks out Integrated Marketing Communications feedback, Art Director guidance or approval, and presents work in meetings or to stakeholders as needed.


SCOPE: Interacts with Creative Team to develop creative concepts and executions of assigned campaigns and projects. Responsible for creating compelling creative, artwork and layouts across every medium include, but not limited to, print, broadcast and interactive/digital.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Mastered composition techniques (multiple elements and interactive pieces) in producing polished final pieces.
  • Good interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with creative and marketing partners.
  • Comprehensive computer photo-retouching and image development skills.
  • Demonstrated complete understanding of color theory and color relationships.
  • Principles of well-crafted, effective typography.
  • Knowledge of print production process and production techniques.
  • Ability to present work clearly and logically.
  • Photography and the photographic process.
  • Provide effective direction at photo shoots.
  • Effectively check and approve work on press.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Visual Communication Design (Graphic Design or closely related) combined with outstanding creative portfolio 

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years’ experience in advertising agency, in-house agency, graphic design field or marketing environment with portfolio of relevant creative work. Note Graphic Design also called Visual Communication Design, VCD.
  • Experience with a wide array of media including print, broadcast, online display, CRM, social, outdoor and POP/displays.
  • Experience in like industry (travel, tourism, entertainment) and with like targets/demographics (teens/tweens, vacationers, Floridians, Hispanics) a plus
  • Understanding of design applications including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Keynote.
  • Understanding of printing process, photography, illustration and typography.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
