Customer Success Engineer

Description

Customer Success Engineer

Following our Series A funding round, we’re looking for an enthusiastic Customer Success Engineer to join us in helping customers to adopt an indispensable part of the content creation toolset. You’ll need to have VFX or Animation industry experience, and be insanely passionate about the industry we’re in!

Do you want to be instrumental in the future of M&E cloud-based services?

As the first Customer Success Engineer hire at Conductor, you’ll be a critical member of our sales and onboarding team. The first part of the Customer Success Engineer role is all about understanding a customer’s needs and demonstrating how Conductor can help them. Once a customer is on board, you’ll assist with getting them set up to use Conductor and making that integration as successful as possible. The ideal candidate has a deep knowledge of content creation pipelines and has supported rendering/simulation workflows for mid to large scale customers.

Responsibilities

  • As a technical field representative, provide consultative guidance throughout the sales process - delivering product demos, scoping technical solutions, answering technical product questions, and generally acting as a source of knowledge for customers.

  • In conjunction with the Sales and Customer Success teams, help customers understand the technical, business, and creative benefits of Conductor.

  • Be the critical point of contact during a sales POC (proof of concept) phase, identifying technical requirements and providing information and solutions to customers to ensure the success of Conductor in their pipeline.

  • Provide product and process improvement feedback to product management, engineering, and sales/business teams.

  • Act as a technical liaison to our sales, customer success, and product development teams, translating customer needs into defined product requirements.

  • Be an evangelist for Conductor’s customers. Cloud is a new and scary workflow to many, and you’ll be charged with putting customers’ fears to rest and replacing ‘em with excitement!

  • Provide post-sales support to facilitate customer adoption and account growth by delivering product training, ensuring successful implementation of Conductor in their workflow, and managing a smooth transition of customer support from Sales to the Customer Success team.

  • Frequent travel to customer studios to conduct duties.

  • When not actively engaged with customers, create test scenes and workflows to more closely replicate a variety of customer pipelines, and improve product testing and performance.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years supporting technical products and pipelines in the VFX and/or Animation space

  • Great problem-solving skills and analytical abilities coupled with an ability to build strong client relationships

  • Knowledge of content creation & rendering packages such as Maya, Nuke, Clarisse, Katana, VRay, Arnold and RenderMan, as well as queueing systems such as Tractor and Qube!

  • Ability to translate system capabilities into product information for customers and to communicate product feature requests into engineering requirements.

  • Experience working with post-production and media customers, and a deep knowledge of production pipelines & demands

  • Team player happy to wear many hats, and excited about participating in a fast-paced and changing startup environment

  • Ability to work both in a team environment & independently with little or no direct supervision

  • Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills

  • Strong Linux experience

  • Willingness to work outside standard business hours to support customers as needed, including travel for onsite customer visits

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Media & Entertainment industry experience as an artist, TD, TA, pipeline engineer or similar

  • Experience in software development for internal pipelines & tools and/or commercial products

  • Some experience with Javascript

  • Strong Python experience
