Senior Animator

Description

Rising Sun Pictures is currently seeking a talented Senior Animator to join our growing team for photo-realistic feature film work.

Employment periods: Immediate start through to late 2017.
Location: Adelaide, Australia. This position is open to Australian and international applicants. Visa and relocation assistance provided where applicable.


Position Overview
Successful applicants will be experienced in a wide range of animation, including animating mechanics, biped and quadruped creatures. Your previous experience will include creating realistic movement and performance for hero digi-doubles.

As an accomplished and professional animator, you will have achieved success while working at a number of high profile VFX studios. Working closely with a variety of departments including modelling, and rigging; the strength of your creative eye, excellent communication & collaboration, together with a strong technical background is essential.

Demonstrated experience with Maya is a fundamental pre-requisite for the successful applicant.


Responsibilities

• Create/animate and deliver realistic movement and performance for hero digi-doubles.
• Work with other animators, modellers, and riggers to produce consistent and accurate work.
• Regularly demonstrate your work in progress.
• Review your work prior to submission, ensuring it hits creative and technical notes, adjusting where necessary.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of animation principles.
• Actively mentor and develop less experienced team members.
• Promote a collaborative and enjoyable workplace influencing morale, fostering purposeful discussion and positive work ethic.

• Minimum 5+ years animating experience for high-end feature films.
• Ability to animate biped and quadruped character performance, as well as mechanics.
• Expert user of Maya.
• Experience with MoCap prefered.
• Ability to create realistic movement and performance for hero digi-doubles [not cartoon-style animation].
• Maintain a calm and professional demeanour in a deadline focused work environment.
• Real world understanding of proportion, depth, scale, and physical space.
• Expert organisational and time-management skills.
• Technical and creative problem solving skills with a service oriented mindset.
