Technical Artist

Description

Primary Responsibilities:

·        Ability to brainstorm, R&D, and implement various project pipelines and toolsets.

·        Work with artists to identify and solve technical problems with existing tools

·        Support in content creation when needed (such as destructible creation or map optimization)

·        Provide support for the technical art team in engine debugging and R&D

·        Acquire a strong knowledge of the engine tools and framework and be able to explain how they work to content creators

·        Seek out and fix performance issues including, but not limited to: framerate issues, memory problems, material errors, and collision issues

·        Support in content creation when needed (such as destructible creation or map optimization)

·        Act as a liaison between art, design, and engineering

 

Requirements:

·        1-3 Years of game industry experience

·        Minimum 2-year 2D/3D art, design, or computer science degree, or equivalent experience with excellent critique and vocabulary skills. Bachelors a plus.

·        Scripting knowledge (Python, Javascript, MAX Script, MEL)

·        Working knowledge of at least one DCC package (3Ds Max, Maya, Photoshop preferred)

·        Previous experience with a AAA game engine (Unity, Unreal, COD Engine)

·        Strong problem solving skills

·        Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and collaboration skills

·        Ability to adapt to rapid development cycles

·        Up to date knowledge of current art techniques and development processes.

·        Strong PBR and HDR knowledge

 

Nice-to-Have Skills:

·        Basic C++ knowledge

·        Experience creating shaders
