We are lucky enough to work with some of the most talented and dedicated people in their field and can depend on them to keep up to date with advancing VFX technologies.  They bring the vital technical element to our creative world.

Pipeline TDs at Double Negative are essential for the smooth running of all our shows. The role is varied and requires someone excited by all the challenges a VFX pipeline can bring. We rely on our experienced Pipeline TD to work closely with our artists to understand their technical glitches and offer efficient and effective solutions. This role is balanced between support and tool development for our 3D and 2D departments using Python. You’ll work with our Supervisors and R&D team to better understand show specific pipeline needs and create documentation and tutorials for any new tools and scripts developed.

The responsibilities of our Pipeline TDs are broad and can include developing test plans to ensure quality and working with artists to improve tool usability to working with our other studios to ease sit-to-site data and workflow issues.

Double Negative prides itself on our technology and our Pipeline team’s ability to solve complex technical problems in a collaborative environment while also supporting our budding ATDs.

  

Must Have

·       4+ years of experience as a Pipeline TD.

·       Demonstrated ability of analysing production procedures and solving problems.

·       Expert level understanding of the Visual Effects pipeline.

·       Expert knowledge and experience with Python and PyQt.

·       Intermediate level experience with the APIs and use of Maya, Nuke and/or Houdini.

·       Advanced level knowledge of Linux/UNIX and the command-line shell.

·       Proven ability to work independently and as a lead in team settings.

·       Proactive and highly motivated.
