Director of University Engagement

Description

SCAD seeks a director of university engagement to ensure excellence and quality in the implementation of special projects.

In this role, you will serve as the day-to-day point person for large-scale collaborative projects involving events, exhibitions, public relations and communications, photography and videography, social media, interactive, faculty and alumni, giving, and creative ideation and design. You will be responsible for the development, coordination and execution of projects and events such as SCADstyle, SCAD Fashion Show, CODA, Pre-Bee programs and select exhibitions.

Working with the area vice president and department team members, you will conceive, plan and execute additional nationally and internationally visible events that showcase SCAD students, alumni and their work. Additionally, you will establish, cultivate and maintain relationships with industry icons and luminaries to create opportunities for students to engage with and learn from these individuals, as well as to enhance the reputation of the university. Your strategic areas of focus include fashion, design and style.

This role resides within the creative direction department, however, you may take direction and feedback from the events department and the chief of staff.

The ideal candidate presents creative ideas and solutions, displays a wide degree of creativity and event logistics experience, and possesses a strong knowledge and understanding of the university’s mission and history. You should have excellent communication and customer relationship management skills, as well as experience negotiating artist, purchase and events space agreements.

Requirements:
? Bachelor’s degree
? Demonstrated project management experience in fast-paced, dynamic environment
? Ability to expertly handle multiple, multicomponent projects and deadlines
? Six to eight years of progressive experience in integrated marketing and/or public relations, including project management, events management, communications, advertising, and interactive and social media
? Additional experience or interest in the fine arts preferred
