Software Engineer - Digital Imaging

Creative Intelligence Lab within Adobe Research plays a key role in creating next-generation applications and features in Adobe’s flagship products, including Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, Lightroom, and Acrobat. We have worked on banner features such as Photoshop’s Content-Aware Fill, Upright Photo, and Generator/Export; Premiere’s Multi-Camera Sync; Audition’s Remix; Illustrator’s latest Pencil tool; and an array of forthcoming mobile apps and desktop features.

Creative Intelligence Lab is searching for a software engineer specializing in digital imaging. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced developer to help create novel experiences in digital imaging.  Your role will be to help researchers transfer new technologies into desktop, tablet, and cloud applications, and to develop frameworks for further exploration. This position provides the opportunity to work directly with Adobe’s world-class research teams and to help their innovations reach the hands of real-world artists, designers, and consumers. You will also work closely with product teams that will help you transfer technologies into their applications.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with researchers on new state-of-the-art algorithms for applications in computational photography, 3D reconstruction and analysis, image and video editing. 
  • Integrate new technologies developed by researchers into Adobe products (across desktop, mobile, and cloud).
  • Develop frameworks for prototyping, testing, and deploying new digital imaging technologies.

Requirements

  • PhD or MS in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Strong quantitative background (numerical methods, optimization)
  • Strong C/C++ programming and software design skills
  • Expertise in image/video processing, computer vision and computer graphics algorithms.
  • Experience with building scalable, performant systems.
  • Experience developing both on Windows and Mac

Desirable background and experience

  • Familiarity with deep learning and one or more neural network frameworks (Torch, Caffe, or TensorFlow)
  • Programming experience on mobile platforms (Android, iOS)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
