Texture Artist/Look Developer

As we are growing, we are now looking for a Texture Artist/Look Developer to be part of our amazing Studio team producing high-quality visualisations and simulations for our app which has been downloaded over 1.5 million times. You will work closely with other 3D specialists, our team of surgeons and anatomists in the production process as well as designers and developers to further improve the user journey through simulations that you will create.

REQUIREMENTS

Your Experience:

  • You have a relevant degree and a great showreel demonstrating your work.
  • 2+ years of commercial experience in texturing and/or look development.
  • Experience working with an organic subject matter such as the human body.
  • You are fuelled by a passion for your craft and have a good eye for detail. Understanding the form, structure and light properties of any object you are tasked with texturing or shading.
  • You are an expert in the use of Maya and Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of one of these renderers Mental Ray, Arnold, Redshift.
  • You are able to problem solve, express yourself easily and take on feedback professionally.
  • You are self-motivated have excellent communication skills and a great team-player.
  • The right to work in the UK and the ability to work from our office in Central London.

The following would be useful but are not required:

  • A base knowledge of MARI.
  • Knowledge of Physically Based Rendering and material development.
  • Knowledge and skills in optimal UV mapping techniques.
  • An understanding of CG Lighting and Compositing.
  • Unity experience.
  • A base knowledge of human anatomy and an interest in medicine.
  • A background in traditional art with skills in drawing, painting, and/or sculpting.
  • A thorough understanding of the texturing, look development, lighting and rendering pipelines and the processes involved from the conceptual phase to implementation.
  • The desire to share and teach your skills to more junior members of the team.
