Technical Training Specialist - 3D Modeling

As a Technical Training Specialist II, you will design and create 3D modeling and simulation training products in a team environment using a wide range of development tools and platforms. Establish and maintain training documentation, work to development/implementation schedules and requirements, implement and evaluate training activities, and function as an integral team member. Assist management and the customer with complex 3D training products. May be involved in bid proposal, project organization, and new business development.

Summary of Duties:

  • 3D Modeling & Animation Training Development—Discuss complex training concepts with customers in simple terms; implement training in concert with customer requirements and collaboration; resolve job challenges, from troubleshooting to focused problem solving; work as part of a team or independently with little supervision; meet deadlines and meet/exceed expected rates of production and quality; develop production pipeline and entire animation course workflow, from modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering, rigging, animation and compositing. Low polygon to high polygon workflow.
  • Graphic Art—Develop illustrations including graphs and diagrams; accomplish design and layout for printed and Web-based materials; design and produce promotional, informational, and training materials (including large-scale display graphics); design WBT modules; design PowerPoint presentations; generate creative graphic ideas and solutions that communicate customer objectives, issues, and programs, and customer requirements through visual media; demonstrate processes and/or share knowledge with team members for various visual media and special projects.
  • Digital Arts—Capture customer products, processes, and customers in job-related activities to produce digital, video, and audio artwork for customers; arrange lighting and various objects to secure proper photographic background; process and output digital photographic prints, slides, e-mail images to customers, and write CDs/DVDs; plan for, collaborate, and design the video shoot, to include all customer requirements and subject scheduling, if requested. Draft the shoot script; set up cameras and shoot to script; transfer media to editing machines; edit video, obtain customer feedback, produce complex projects, using linear and nonlinear media (such as videotape and computer-based disks).

YOU MUST HAVE

  •  US citizenship to obtain and maintain United States Department of Energy security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, organizational development, business, social science, or technical field with knowledge of training and development.  In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a combination of formal education, practical knowledge, and experience will be considered.
  • One year of functional experience and knowledge in Maya or 3DS Max, as well as software similar to CAD Applications, ZBrush, Mudbox, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, Unity 3D, XBox 360, PS3; and Adobe Flash development.
  • One year of experience in 3D disciplines of modeling, texturing, UVs, lighting, rendering, rigging, weighting, animating, particles & fluids, compositing, effects.
