Senior Facial Animator

Description

NetherRealm Studios, a division of WB Games Inc. seeks a Senior Facial Animator to be responsible for creating top of the industry facial animation, with a firm understanding of Facial Anatomy and FACS based animation rigs and pipelines as well as facial Capture technology. Ongoing responsibilities are completing facial Animation, directing work assigned to outsource partners, and having solid communication with the Cinematics Team.

• Produce high-quality realistic facial animation using hand-key techniques and adjusting captured facial data
• Review and critique outsourced facial animation work
• Use proprietary tools to implement facial animation into game engine
• Participate in Cinematic motion shoots
• File management – organize work/files efficiently

• Formal art education such as BFA from accredited art or design school or equivalent level of experience required
• A degree with an emphasis on animation desired
• Must have shipped at least one game in a senior or lead animation position
• 5+ years game industry experience or related entertainment industry experience
• 3 years minimum relevant experience within animation
• Highly Skilled Maya user
• Proven key-framing knowledge and skill set
• Worked with facial capture animation data
• Proven leadership abilities
• Ability to give clear animation direction (written and verbal)
• Takes direction well
• Strong grasp of traditional animation principles
• Familiar with FACS based rigs
• Strong technical problem solving skills
• Ability to learn new tools quickly
• Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines
• Highly organized. Ability to multitask and manage multiple tasks at once
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong interest in Video Games, storytelling, and Movies
• Familiar with the Unreal 3 Engine
• Experience with Outsourcing
• Well versed in Facial Anatomy
• Acting background/experience
• Experience with Martial Arts/Fighting Games
