Well you’re in luck, because Trendy Entertainment, developer and publisher of Dungeon Defenders 2, is looking for a Senior Concept Artist that fits the bill!

We own our IP, so we pretty much get carte-blanche to make big changes to our games as we see fit. That’s the core of the work surrounding Dungeon Defenders 2, but we’re also planning to develop some new IPs, and you’ll help us kickoff our next great game.

We’re looking for a humble but strong-minded professional who can teach us a thing or two and learn from us in return. As our Senior Concept Artist, you’ll join a team combining world-class talent.

Responsibilities:

  • Candidate will work with art and design to craft and maintain the project's art style and manage concept art creation
  • Will be expected to translate the vision of the designers to concept art and ensure that all work conforms to the technical and stylistic specifications set forth
  • Will effectively relate vision to developers and artists
  • Approach systematically all areas of concept art creation
  • Produce a wide variety of drawings, including character, item and environment,
that define the look and function of non-photorealistic in-game assets
  • Work closely with project leads to define the style and look of the game
  • Create storyboards, sketches, in-game 2D screens, layouts and color comps
  • Will mentor and assist in the direction of other artists

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years’ experience as an artist in the games industry and previous experience in a senior role.
  • Outstanding portfolio that demonstrates a strong artistic style and design sensibility.
  • Excellent understanding of human anatomy, form, proportion and scale, and the ability to bend those rules in a creative and stylistic way.
  • Experience communicating well with team disciplines and working within existing project constraints.
  • Strong ability to create realistic and uniquely styled characters, environments, weapons, and vehicles to match, expand upon, and establish visual styles. With strong understanding of design and color theory.
  • Strong proficiency in traditional and 2D and 3D visual software programs.
  • Strong understanding of game production pipeline. With experience shipping multiple titles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Responsive and adaptive to reviews and feedback from the Art Director and team members.
  • Art degree from an accredited institution.

This is a full time, permanent, onsite position in our Gainesville Studio. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
