Sales Director, Licensing

GREAT BOWERY LICENSING combines Trunk Archive as a unique, curated, online archive of high-end contemporary photography and Gallery Stock as a boutique premium stock agency.

Great Bowery Licensing is seeking an experienced Sales Director to run the New York Sales Department for North, Central, & South America. This is a sales driven management position, focused on image licensing of the highest-level photo imagery found on the market today.

The Sales Director must hold established relationships within the photo image and archival industry and will be responsible for managing the sales team, helping to develop and execute new business opportunities, as well as develop and grow existing accounts in North, Central, & South America.

The primary objectives of the Sales Director are to achieve revenue targets, drive customer satisfaction, grow market share, as well as the adoption of Trunk Archive and Gallery Stock collections, and to lead the sales team to realize the full potential of the Great Bowery Licensing portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage team of account managers, providing leadership in the day-to-day operations of the sales department, while maintaining focus on the company’s strategic goals
  • Set and implement KPIs and sales goals with Global Managing Director, forecasting market trends and forming sales plans to adapt to constant shifts in the market
  • Maintain sales team results by conducting weekly team meetings and individual quarterly reviews
  • Weekly analysis and reporting of sales to uncover untapped potential, guiding team members to develop a strategy to grow customer market segments
  • Mentor and develop skill sets and strategic thinking of team members
  • Willingness to step in operationally as needed
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with key clients to gain deep insight into the industry, providing feedback and planning on how to best service clients’ needs
  • Stay abreast of competitors’ practices and changes in the industry
  • Work closely with the European Sales Director to develop and align standards, exchanging ideas and best practices for success
  • Collaborate with Marketing Manager to provide input on marketing and content strategies relevant to customer segments in order to drive sales across all platforms
  • Act as an expert voice within the organization
  • Serve as a business representative at major industry events, conferences, and expositions

Skills & Expertise:

  • 3+ years in sales management with successful record of leading sales team and developing company strategy
  • Experience working with premium licensing, including a proven track record of managing and growing revenue
  • Ability to work successfully under tight deadlines, in a fast-paced team environment, with a proactive ?approach and positive attitude
  • Understanding of cultural nuances that are part of an international company
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, project management, and presentation skills ?
  • Flexible mindset, including the willingness and ability to readily respond to changing circumstances ?and expectations ?
  • A passion and knowledge of photography market; fashion and celebrity knowledge a plus
