Production Manager / Senior 3D Artist

This is an on-site, full time position in Redondo Beach, California

Come be a part of our rapidly growing startup in the fast-paced and exciting industry of forensic animation! This position will provide the opportunity to grow as an artist while helping shape the artistic foundation of our company. You will be creating top quality, scientifically accurate 3D animations and graphics to be used in multi-million dollar lawsuits and high-profile criminal trials.

What you’ll be working on: The primary role of this position is to lead the production staff in the execution, and delivery of 3D legal animations and graphics. The candidate will guide other artists in the day to day operations of our pipeline, as well as implement our methods to create scientifically accurate animations. This role requires someone who has mastery of 3D principles, (modeling, texturing, animating, lighting, rendering and compositing) and strong experience with animation pipelines. It also requires a strong working knowledge of 3DS Max.

Responsibilities

• Create, refine, animate, and render photorealistic 3D models and animations
• Attend animation dailies and assist production, if needed, to prepare the dailies session.
• Attend client meetings and interface with clients
• Create estimates and job proposals for client
• Create and manage project budgets
• Collaborate with internal and remote teams to create art assets that can be implemented in our pipeline
• Assist with recruiting contractors

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional industry experience
• Experience in management
• Mastery of 3DS Max or similar
• Mastery of Photoshop
• Mastery of After Effects or Nuke
• Exceptional understanding of aesthetics
• Experience with creating and managing animation pipelines
• Strong in mathematics

Plusses

• Experience with character animation
• Experience with Camera Tracking software
• Experience Unity, Thinking Particles, PFTrack or similar, Unreal, or any other 3D or FX software or plugins
• Experience with VRay
• Experience with render farms
• Experience with motion capture
• Experience with project management and/or versioning software
• Experience in the legal industry
• Any other technical 3D or FX skills
