FX Fluid Artist - Liquid Simulations

Rocket Studios is an integrated creative production company for print, broadcast, and interactive content. Our studio is located in Hawthorne CA, inside the Lithographix 250,000 square foot facility. We are a studio comprised of artists, photographers, cinematographers, CGI artists, retouchers, etc. Our talented staff has produced photorealistic images and animations for iconic, award-winning ad campaigns for companies such as Apple, Lexus, Samsung, Honda, and many more.
We are currently seeking fluid simulation artists for a short term project which involves a slow motion pour of CG liquid into a glass.
Requirements:
- USA based artists only
- Experience creating photorealistic liquid simulations
- Ability to produce look tests based on the provided reference materials
- Capable of working with the Lighting Artist and Compositor to ensure effects work smoothly
- Production experience working in Maya
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Positive attitude and ability to work with others
Preferences:
- Maya Bifrost Artist
- Ability to work on-site
- Ability to create photorealistic shaders
Will Consider:
- Remote work
- Alternate Software packages (such as Houdini) : If you prefer to work in your own software, you must be able to export and import the final data into Maya for shading, lighting, and rendering.
Bonus:
- Good eye for form, composition and lighting
- Experience in both static and dynamic lighting and shadow techniques
- Ability to troubleshoot or problem-solve
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for creating a fluid simulation based on the provided reference images and the client’s needs. You must be able to follow direction and positively receive feedback/notes from the art director and client for revisions. The final simulation must be ready for shading, lighting, and rendering in Maya using Arnold.
Pay:
Hourly rate depending on experience
