POSITION
Moore College of Art & Design seeks a full-time faculty member
for the Animation and Game Arts department with a focus in animation.
The three-year full-time, renewable appointment starts in August 2018.
Salary and rank are commensurate with experience and subject to the
collective bargaining agreement with Moore Federation of Teachers.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate is an innovative animator and educator with
significant professional experience who is excited by and a supporter of
emerging technologies and teaching methodologies. Moore seeks faculty
who understand and are conversant in the critical issues that frame and
define their work, and who demonstrate an ability and eagerness to
integrate those issues, their professional work, and their teaching.
Applicants should be self-driven and demonstrate the potential for
leadership including the active cultivation of departmental culture and
community. In addition, we seek applicants who thrive in small,
collaborative environments and enjoy working with colleagues in diverse
fields and who appreciate the value of an all women’s education in
animation and game arts.
Requirements:
- MFA in Animation, Game Arts, Interactive Media or related field
- At least 3 years of college-level teaching
- Knowledge of the following software: Photoshop, Adobe Animate, After Effects, Premier Pro, Autodesk Maya, Arnold Renderer
- Knowledge of the following is preferred: Toon Boom, Physical Based Rendering, Unreal Game Engine, Unity Game Engine
DUTIES
The full-time faculty-teaching load is seven classes annually.
Faculty may be asked to teach in more than one department and are
expected to hold office hours, participate in committee work, enrollment
efforts, and advising. Animation and Game Arts is an external-facing
department and faculty work closely with the Chair regarding curriculum,
partnerships, and technology.

MFA in Socially-Engaged Studio Art, and MA in Socially-Engaged Art that
provide students with immersive experiences and communities of research
and creativity to become professional artists, designers and teachers.
The Galleries at Moore are a vibrant forum to explore contemporary
art, design, and ideas that enrich the artistic and intellectual climate
of the college, the Greater Philadelphia community, and beyond. This is
accomplished through important and challenging exhibitions,
publications on established and emerging regional, national, and
international artists and designers, and free programs and public events
for all ages that highlight Moore’s mission of educating students in
