Maya Rigging TD

Description

BUCK is looking for a talented Maya Rigging TD to join our Rigging department in our design-driven Los Angeles studio. The Maya Rigging TD works under the rigging supervisor and alongside the CG Team and Animation Supervisor to help create amazing characters and moments for both pre-rendered and realtime animation. Ideal candidates should have experience building expert level rigs of all types and complexity. A strong organic modeling skill set is heavily desired as well. This is a full time staff position with benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Create expert level facial and character rigs
  • Create rigs for both pre-rendered animation and realtime (in-engine)
  • Create realistic and cartoon style rigs
  • “Creative rigging” for unique visual puzzles
  • Create scene and prop rigs
  • Check models for clean and necessary topology
  • Modeling correctives and weighting skins
  • Contribute to character pipeline development
  • Provide support to the animation team
  • Continue to develop character pipeline and rigging script libraries
  • Part-time character/asset modeling
  • Research rigging techniques

Qualifications:
  • Deep understanding of anatomy, motion, and masses / volumes
  • Deep understanding of maya rigging
  • Understanding of realtime engine limitations and workflows
  • Python, MEL
  • Self-directed problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to communicate technical and creative challenges
  • Experience working productively in a team-centric environment
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and effectively prioritize given tasks
  • Portfolio of creative and technical work samples
