Backgrounds Paint Artist

(Full-time, Fixed term Contract)

We’re looking for super talented artists to establish the color, style, and mood of a scene drawn by an animation layout artists.

Start Date:        Open

Location:           Halifax, NS

Responsibilities:

 ·         Use Background layouts and apply all final color, textures, and details to render finished background art for each episode

·         Use color keys as a reference to produce backgrounds

·         Maintain consistent style and execution of BG’s as per requirements of the production

·         Incorporate all notes from the Backgrounds Supervisor, while working collaboratively with other artists under a strict schedule

 Qualifications:

• Previous experience with painting in Photoshop is necessary
• Experience in Background Art for television, film and/or a demo reel displaying the required skills
• Impeccable understanding of color theory
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
• Attention to detail and problem solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Location:
Applicants must be willing to relocate to Halifax, Nova Scotia
