Backgrounds Layout Artist

(Full-time, Fixed term Contract)

We’re looking for super talented artists to help take our productions to the next level by defining both perspective and detail in our acting areas to make our stories come to life!

Start Date:        April 16, 2018

Location:           Halifax, NS

Responsibilities:

·         Use key Background designs as reference to draw all rough layouts for assigned sequences

·         Extrapolate from storyboards to determine the angle, fielding and perspective of assigned shots

·         Reference model sheets in order to produce drawings that are consistent and on style

·         Plot camera moves and provide clear technical instructions

·        Incorporate notes from the Backgrounds Supervisor, while working collaboratively with other animators under a strict schedule

Qualifications:

• Degree or Diploma in Graphic Design, Fine Arts or technical training coupled with experience
• Experience in Background Art for television, film and/or a demo reel displaying the required skills
• Impeccable understanding of composition, perspective, and scenic design
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
• Attention to detail and problem solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Location:
Applicants must be willing to relocate to Halifax, Nova Scotia
