Associate Technical Artist (Temp)

Description

NetherRealm Studios seeks an Associate Technical Artist who will be responsible for creating Houdini simulations and effects work for the Technical Art team. This person will work closely with the team’s lead and artists to create high quality assets that are optimized to run within real-time game budgets and performance limitations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Use Houdini to create simulations using FLIP, Pyro, POPS, RBDs or other solvers. 
  • Convert and optimize Houdini data into game usable assets, work with Tech Art team to implement those assets.
  • Attend team meetings and review sessions

Job Qualifications:

  • Must possess a working knowledge of Houdini and it’s various simulation solvers
  • At Least a 2-year 2D/3D art degree or equivalent. BFA is preferred.
  •  Must be proficient in Houdini.
  • Experience with Maya or other 3D content tools is a plus.
  • Experience with Unreal 3 Engine is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines.
  • Strong interest in computer or video games
  • Self-motivated
  • Be able to communicate with a variety of disciplines in order to reach solutions.
  • Outgoing
  • Self-sufficient in reaching out to others either within the character team or outside of it.
  • Able to work effectively with both large and small teams.
  • Highly Organized
