Associate Artist, FX (Temp)
Description
Summary of Position:
NetherRealm Studios seeks an Associate FX Artist who
will be responsible
for creating FX work used in gameplay and in-game cinemas. This person will
work closely with the team’s lead and artists to create high quality assets
that are optimized to run within real-time game budgets and performance
limitations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop Cascade FX
assets for use in-game or in in-game cinemas
- Implement Cascade FX
assets into in-game cinemas
- Texture and Material
work in support of in-game particle assets
- Develop simulations in Houdini, RealFlow, or other
similar tools for use in-game
Job Qualifications:- At Least a 2-year 2D/3D art degree or
equivalent. BFA is preferred.
- Should be knowledgeable in Unreal 3
Engine and Cascade Particle Editor.
- RealFlow experience desired.
- Experience
with 3D Studio Max, Maya or other 3D content tools is a plus.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal,
and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and
deadlines.
- Strong interest in computer or video
games.
- Self-motivated
- Be able to communicate with a variety of disciplines
in order to reach solutions.
- Outgoing
- Self-sufficient in reaching out to others either
within the FX team or outside of it.
- Able to work effectively with both large and small
teams.
