Associate Technical Artist (Temp)

Summary of Position:

NetherRealm Studios seeks an Associate Technical Artist who will be responsible for special effects animations in cinematics. This person will work closely with the team’s lead and artists to animate high quality special effects assets that match an art directed visual composition and timing.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Use Unreal based cinematics tool (eg. Matinee or Sequencer) to populate and animate special effects elements provided by the Technical Art Team. 
  • Work with the Technical Art Team to identify problem cases or request unique effects assets to solve unique scenarios.
  • Attend team meetings and review sessions
Job Qualifications:

  • Must be familiar with Unreal Engine 3 or 4, specifically with Matinee or Sequencer
  • At Least a 2-year 2D/3D art degree or equivalent. BFA is preferred.
  • Experience as an animator, or a portfolio or reel showing a good eye for composition and animation timing is a plus
  • Experience with other timeline based animation tools is a plus
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines
  • Strong interest in computer or video games
  • Self-motivated
  • Be able to communicate with a variety of disciplines in order to reach solutions
  • Self-sufficient in reaching out to others either within the Tech Art team or outside of it
  • Able to accept and act on feedback from a range of people
  • Highly organized
