Description
FuseFX Los Angeles is seeking a talented Marketing Producer-Editor to lead our marketing editorial department. FuseFX is an award-winning visual effects and animation studio focused on producing photo-real digital effects for feature film, episodic television and commercials.
The Marketing Producer-Editor oversees the scheduling, workflow, and overall creative success of marketing demo reels prepared by the company’s Marketing Editorial team, including personally cutting reels on a regular basis.. The Producer-Editor represents the Marketing Editorial team to a diverse group of internal clients, managing the team’s workload, priorities, and client expectations.
Marketing Producer-Editor Duties:
- Act as the main point of contact for a diverse group of internal clients, including VFX Supervisors, the Marketing team and executives making requests of Marketing Editorial.
- Assess the urgency, priority, and necessity of reel requests across all FuseFX locations.
- Monitor workload and assignments for each Marketing Editor, balancing the volume of reels they create with their ability to provide internal clients with the best possible result
- Work with internal clients and editors to develop a clear brief for each reel (desired content, length, aesthetic) and understanding of the priorities and mindset of the target audience
- Look for opportunities to provide reels with “flow” and thematic links between shots, opening and closing with the strongest or most relevant material
- Oversee creative and technical quality control for all reels. Collaborate with Executive Visual Effects Supervisor and others to ensure only high-quality work is showcased in FuseFX reels
- Evolve the Marketing Editorial workflow to take reels from concept through completion, including finishing, color correction and delivery
- Cut reels on a regular basis, while maintaining sufficient bandwidth for other duties of the Producer-Editor. Focus on covering for other editors, and short but challenging projects
- Proactively anticipate issues with existing workflow, technology and staffing, and present solutions to management with sufficient time for action to be taken
- Facilitate the acquisition of material for reels, maintaining thorough knowledge of the available material, it’s location, and methods for retrieving it.
- Track how recently main and specialty company reels have been updated, and initiate updates for reels that are falling out-of-date.
- Oversee the secure delivery of materials and finished reels, including those being used for social media, PR, awards submissions and the FuseFX website
- Cultivate a team-oriented approach across the Marketing Editorial team, and resolve resource conflicts when they arise
- In collaboration with HR and studio leadership, participate in hiring, onboarding, training, performance reviews and releasingMarketing Editorial staff
- Prepare and maintain Marketing Editorial FAQs and document workflows and best practices, organizing them to be readily accessible to staff
- Communicate a consistent and compelling picture of the company’s position as a world-class VFX studio to clients and staff
Required Skills :
- 5+ years in producer/ editor position
- Experience editing trailers or VFX reels ideal
- Highly proficient in Avid, Final Cut and/or Premiere
- Knowledgable of different file formats (Quicktime, MXF, DPX, JPG, etc.)
- Familiarity with Davinci Resolve
- A “can do” customer service attitude
- An eye for VFX industry trends; particularly focused on marketing reels and music
- Role model in conflict resolution and ability to provide insight into complex situations for their team
- Highly organized individual who enjoys the creative process and managing a small team
