Graphics Software Engineer

If so, then our Visual and Parallel Computing Group (VPG) has an opportunity for you.  In VPG, we are focused on delivering Best-in-Class visual experiences that enable users to immerse themselves in a new visual future.  The Software team in VPG works on drivers and shader compilers across all OSs, our software team delivers Intel’s 3D graphics, media, display and compute GPU Technology.  We are looking for a Graphics Software Engineer to be part of our team.  In this position, you will be you will be responsible for the performance of Windows DirectX and/or macOS Metal workloads.

You will help us with the following responsibilities:

  • Analyze graphics hardware and software performance for current and future game titles and applications on existing hardware and future platforms
  • Identify opportunities for driver, application, and hardware improvements and collaborate with world-wide teams of driver developers, hardware architects, application engineers, and ISV partners to enhance the performance and efficiency of Intel graphics
  • Implement driver and application optimizations
  • Gather data and develop proofs-of-concepts to evaluate hardware design alternatives and drive for adoption of performance optimizations

Qualifications

Minimum Skills and experience we are looking for:

You must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with 2+ years of related experience. A Master's degree is preferred with 1+ years of experience.

Your experience should be in the following areas:

  • Experience with C/C++ programming
  • Knowledge of computer architecture
  • Experience programming in one of: game development, 3D applications, device drivers, or compilers

Preferred Skills and experience that will make you stand out:

  • Experience developing applications, drivers, or rendering engines using one of DirectX, Metal, Vulkan, or OpenGL
  • Knowledge of operating systems.
  • Knowledge of GPU architecture
