Director of Sponsored Projects

SCAD Atlanta seeks a director of sponsored projects to leverage the university’s faculty, students, and resources to meet the real-world needs of globally recognized brands and businesses. This position develops and manages collaborative projects that produce innovative solutions for new products, services, experiences, media and technology.

The director of sponsored projects leads the cutting-edge university program that provides real-world learning experiences for students, faculty and industry partners. You will bring on returning partners and locate, negotiate and secure new business accounts that offer students industry experience within each of Atlanta’s twenty-one design disciplines. The director of sponsored projects is a mature leader who can swiftly work across internal departments to identify and recruit high caliber multi-disciplinary teams of faculty and students, acting as a manager and mentor to ensure projects are on brief and that the partner’s goals are exceeded. You are passionate about education, innovation and design and believe strongly in SCAD’s mission to prepare students for professional careers. You support this by expanding the roster of top companies who have worked with and recruited talent directly from SCAD sponsored projects, such as: AT&T, BMW, Coca-Cola, Mercedes-Benz, The Home Depot, and more.

The ideal candidate works well with others, is self-starting and able to take on multiple tasks and projects independently. This role requires a results-oriented and assertive personality, strict attention to detail and a commitment to student learning within an academic environment.

The director of sponsored project reports directly to the executive director of strategic enterprises and works collaboratively across SCAD’s Savannah and Hong Kong campus teams.

Requirements:
– Advanced degree and five or more years of business experience
