Professor of Visual Effects
Description
Visual effects artists are masters of illusion, creating believable images that are impossible or impractical to shoot in the real world. Help talented students make their own incredible dreams a reality as a full-time professor in visual effects at SCAD Savannah.
In this role, you will demonstrate expert proficiency in the following areas: photorealistic compositing within a node-based professional compositing environment (e.g., Nuke or equivalent); lighting and look development; integration of photographic elements with computer graphics effects animation; matte painting; and characters and environments including script breakdown, shot planning and postproduction project management.
The ideal candidate demonstrates familiarity with the planning and execution of photographic elements for visual effects. These areas include essential camera operation, scene data collection, CG integration, miniature and forced-perspective photography, blue- and green-screen photography, use of motion control technology, set protocol, and the planning and construction of special effects rigs for visual effects. You should be familiar with current trends and technological developments in visual effects image gathering. On-set and location experience in a supervisory capacity is strongly desired.
