Professor of Television Producing

Description

Join the television producing department at SCAD Atlanta as a full-time professor and help exceptional students realize their goals.

The ideal candidate demonstrates an understanding of all aspects of filmmaking, from concept development and preproduction to postproduction and distribution, including knowledge of existing and emerging technologies related to production, postproduction and TV studio production. You should also have experience with editing systems as well as in a TV studio environment. Experience with Avid media composer is preferred.

SCAD television producing students are immersed in a creative studio environment where cutting-edge technology and academic and professional instruction enable them to create award-winning media. Student productions from SCAD have been screened at premier film festivals around the world, including the Sundance Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, the Los Angeles Film Festival and South by Southwest. The SCAD Atlanta film and television department had student work screened at 26 film festivals with seven receiving an award or special selection, including a Red Dot Award, Southern Spotlight Award, a semi-finalist for the Los Angeles CineFest competition and an honorable mention for National Student Production Award from the Emmy foundation. SCAD currently has 42 student films nominated for the 2018 South Eastern Emmy Awards, 13 of which are by SCAD Atlanta students.

Requirements:
- Master’s degree or its equivalent in film and television or a related field
- Significant production experience and credit listings on recognizable movies and television shows
