Survey of computer art courses serve as a foundation and are required of nearly every student at SCAD. Professors must be versed in digital technology for various applications and be able to inspire students to learn more about how to apply these tools to their particular degree. You are an accomplished professional with recent experience in the latest industry technologies and professional practices.

In this role, you will teach survey classes in computer art applications, including an overview of various computer software, project- and file-management techniques, vector and raster digital graphics files, resolution for print or screen, introduction to 3-D concepts, 2-D and 3-D animation basics and web portfolio basics. You will also assist students in the creation of an online portfolio, with a focus in the various digital media industries, as a final deliverable. In addition, you will communicate the advantages and objectives for diverse media-based industry approaches and processes.

The ideal candidate has industry and college-level teaching experience, specifically with online coursework preferred, and a superior-grade reel with a breakdown. Knowledge of Maya or Maxon Cinema 4D, web portfolio creation and the Adobe Creative Suite are preferred, as is familiarity with 3-D environments and compositing, to include modeling, texture creating, lighting and rendering. You will also instruct students on project management and collaboration techniques with Microsoft Office 365 and the Google software suite. Using your design expertise, technical skills and knowledge of industry trends, you will help students find their creative niche as they experiment with the same professional instruments and immersive design technologies they will soon use in the workplace and prepare them for success in creative careers.
