About this position:

The CG VFX artist is responsible for overseeing the creation, shading, and rendering of CG assets and creating sophisticated particle simulations. The Artist will also provide creative ideas and approaches to further enhance the direction from the VFX Supervisor, the Stereographer, and clients.

We're looking for exceptionally talented individuals who can create visually pleasing effects in a stereoscopic environment, create particle simulations and other visual effects elements to enhance stereo effects, can demonstrate working knowledge of stereoscopic camera rigs in a CG environment and can match cameras to live stereo. Communication skills are key to working on our team. Taking direction/critiques, interpreting notes and learning/applying new skills are key parts of everyday life in our studio.The ability to work in a timely manner toward deadlines is essential.


Requirements

Requirements & Preferences:

 

  • US Work Authorization – Required – All applicants must provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. Exceptional candidates may be considered for sponsorship and are encouraged to apply.

  • Knowledge and Experience with software packages: Maya, Softimage and/or Houdini – Required

  • Knowledge and experience with Nuke or an equivalent compositing software - Required

  • Knowledge and Experience with Widows (PC) Production Environment – Required

  • Knowledge of Practical Filmmaking Techniques – Required

  • Excellent Artistic Ability/Aptitude – Required



  • Previous Professional Experience in Stereoscopy – Strongly Preferred

  • Scripting and/or ICE/Houdini Vex – a plus

  • Traditional Art Background & Portfolio – a plus

  • Accredited Post-Secondary Degree or Related Coursework – Preferred
