JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The character animator will be responsible for rigging, weighting, and animating the characters for the game and cutscenes. This person will work with the art director and animation lead to help create the look and feel of character movement. They will be responsible for both in game and cutscene animation and any other work deemed necessary. This person must demonstrate an excellence in acting and possess a strong understanding of the twelve principles in animation. They must display the ability to act with multiple characters and simply get their message across through motion.

- Responsible for rigging and animating characters.
- Have an excellent eye for staging and shot/camera setup.
- Traditional animation background
- Ability to storyboard and concept your scenes on paper.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to contribute innovative and original ideas towards all aspects of game art and production.
- Ability to set an example for all team members by regularly demonstrating strong work ethics, quality of work, teamwork, motivation, and solid leadership.
- Maintain effective and strong working relationships with managers and coworkers.
Ability to work fast but not sacrifice quality.
- Knowledge of game production pipeline.
A Great Sense of humor.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent traditional art skills, including sketching, illustration, textures, and compositional theory.
- 2 year Associates Degree or 4 year Bachelor Degree in Art/ Design or equivalent industry experience.
- Thorough understanding of the technical aspects of animation.
- Knowledge of other disciplines within 3D art, namely: modeling, special effects, lighting and rendering.
- 2 - 5 years experience in the gaming industry as an Animator
- Maya experience
