CUSTOMER SUPPORT ENGINEER - MODEM SW INTEGRATION #1574685 Customer Integration Engineer is responsible for SW delivery aspects of mobile broadband firmware deliveries. This will involve integration and test of core engineering changes and ensuring stability for customer deliveries. The ideal candidate will be capable of supporting customers with system designs, providing system integration, testing and analysis of problems and responding to all technical inquiries in a professional and competent manner. This work requires hands-on software validation and testing to confirm deliveries. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Work closely with project management to create and meet schedules. Alert customer project manager in case the delivery milestones cannot be met. - Integrate all fixes and developments coming from the different development teams - Feedback issues and work closely with core engineering teams to solve customer system issues - Maintain stability on the different customer branches for which you are responsible - Build firmware, perform and organize testing on customer hardware - Setup and maintain automatic test benches - Gather test results and prepare quality gate for delivery agreement - Develop technical support materials including customer specific documentation (e.g.release notes) - Deliver full delivery packages for customer projects including documentation - Organize production tests and signed software images for production customer deliveries. - Communicate with other team members to share useful information MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: - Degree in a relevant subject (Electronic Engineering, computer science or equivalent) - Knowledge of SW versioning tools - Experienced with SW development on embedded devices - Relevant experience of 3 to 5 years in release management on embedded real-time systems is necessary - Direct experience SW development is necessary - Working knowledge of SCM system is necessary (GIT/perforce preferred but ClearCase or CVS is acceptable) - Experience in cellular communication (GSM / EDGE / UMTS) is an advantage - SW development skills - C language skills - Scripting skills (Python preferred by PERL or Ruby is acceptable) - Shell and makefile skills (TCSH and GNU make preferred) - Excellent diagnostic and analytical skills - Good documentation skills. - Good organization skills to be able to handle different projects in parallel - Highly proactive, professional communicator - Excellent written and verbal communications skills in the English language are mandatory - Travel Required: <20% travel EOE
