Technical Director - Layout

General Summary
The Layout TD will provide technical support for the Layout department, identify and solve production issues and help optimize the departmental workflow. This position will also help artists resolve challenges on the production and help the pipeline run smoothly by developing workflow tools. The Layout TD will work directly for the show and be tasked by the Head of Layout, but functions as a loan out from the Production Technology Department.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Implement pipeline functionality delivered by R&D
• Implement artist workflow by developing scripts and tools that work within the pipeline delivered by R&D
• Investigate third party tools and utilities and stay abreast of latest research in the area of layout in computer graphics
• Share knowledge with other production technical directors and communicate layout technology needs to R&D
• Other duties as assigned.
