Technical Standards Analyst

Midway San Diego is looking for a Technical Standards Analyst.

As part of a Product Development team, the Technical Standards Analyst helps ensure that Midway’s titles exhibit high quality, especially in regards to the console manufacturers’ technical submission standards. The Technical Standards Analyst evaluates each title’s compliance with standards, enters defect reports into the defect tracking database, and writes and distributes reports to the Product Development team. In addition, the Technical Standards Analyst helps inform the teams about how best to comply with these standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Supports the Product Development teams with effective and consistent submission standards guidance for all regions.

• Evaluates titles in regards to compliance with the console manufacturers’ submission standards; enters defect reports into the defect tracking database; writes and distributes compliance reports to the Product Development team.

• Maintains up-to-date awareness of console submission standards and licensed peripherals.

• Maintains contacts in each console manufacturer’s standards department.

• Resolves issues concerning standards by working with contacts at each console manufacturer; informs and advises the Product Development team regarding these issues.

• Works closely with the Lead QA Analyst to organize and schedule standards testing.

• Works closely with the Lead QA Analyst to evaluate and report the title’s readiness for submission.

• Represents the Technical Standards function in Bug Club meetings when requested by the Lead QA Analyst or QA Supervisor.

• Assesses project conformance with milestone definitions in regards to standards when requested by the Lead QA Analyst or QA Supervisor.

• Helps maintain standards awareness among QA personnel by preparing and delivering training as well as creating documentation, CDs, and other standards resources for the QA personnel.

• Maintains awareness of current software and hardware trends, consumer expectations, and competitive products specifically regarding computer and console-based platforms.

• Provides support to the Company at events when requested.
