BLUE CASTLE GAMES (www.bluecastlegames.com) is a full-service, multi-project and multi-platform 3rd party developer located in Vancouver, Canada. The studio was formed in 2005, fulfilling the desire to start a company where creativity, experience and hard work come together to create outstanding games. We are currently a 160 plus-person studio which has more than doubled in the past year. In its short tenure, Blue Castle has already developed and shipped The BIGS (published by 2K Sports in June 2007) on PS3, 360, PS2, PSP and Wii. We are well underway on three new projects - an unannounced Action title and two Sports titles one of which was just announced - MLB Front Office Manager to be released on three platforms.

As a Senior Animator working on this very unique Action title, you are working alongside a talented group of Artists & Animators and given the creative freedom necessary to create high quality keyframe and mocap'd animations for the ultimate gameplay experience.

Our Animators are responsible for defining animation aesthetics and communicating a unique vision for pushing the envelope in creating higher standards for in game animation, performance and realism.

To accomplish this, you have a proven track record of working and collaborating with Designers, Programmers and Artists to create believable and stylistic character animation in a videogame environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and create high quality mocap'd and keyframe animations
- Provide technical animation direction to the animation team
- Be a problem solver - constantly striving to optimize and enhance an effective animation pipeline while identifying workflow improvements, providing and directing trouble shooting efforts for the animation team
- Give creative direction and criticism where needed for all in-game character assets, animation, cut scenes and motion capture assets that convey character and personality.
- Liaise closely with the Programming teams to develop pipelines including blend tree systems and optimal rigs.
- Help organize and mentor the Character Animation team including project scheduling and reporting
