The environmentally sensitive campus, located on 3,200 acres on the Red Sea at Thuwal, is set to open in September 2009.

KAUST has recently partnered with the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) to build and conduct joint research on the world’s most advanced visualization laboratory known as Cornea. Cornea will host the world’s highest resolution and brightest VL6 Virtual Environment featuring a 100 million pixel system that will provide pure 20/20 visual acuity in a fully three-dimensional environment for KAUST researchers, students, and partners.

Job Description: Build web applications to support the campus utilization of visualization labs and remote visualization services.

Job Duties:
• Work collaboratively with a team of visualization and computer graphics developers to generate web based visualization solutions for scientists in a variety of domains.
• Design and implement new internet based visual solutions to specific scientific problems that provide innovative ways of explaining scientific materials to a variety of audiences.
• Develop and deploy web portals and portal apps for a series of scientific applications.
• Manage a small collection of web sites to support scientific visualization tools for the campus.
